Andrew Charles Hamer, 33, of Columbus, passed away at 1:27 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born October 30, 1983, in Columbus, the son of Rick Hamer and Jeannetta (Hamilton) Hamer Overfelt.
He was raised in Westport and had been residing in Columbus. He had been employed at Sunright America for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge at Seymour.
He enjoyed music, playing video games, his car, singing, being a part-time DJ and watching movies.
He is survived by his fiancé, Rebecca Mathews and her children, Mikaela and Kolbie; father, Rick (Michelle) Hamer of Salem; mother, Jeannetta (Ken) Overfelt of Greensburg; daughter, Kaydin Hamer of Columbus; sister, Melissa Hamer of Columbus; half-sister, Shana (Andy) Richmond of North Vernon; step sister, Addison Overfelt of Columbus; half-brother, Mike Hamer of Greensburg; and grandmothers, Joan Hamer of Greensburg and Della Hamilton of Westport.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jim Hamer and George W. Hamilton.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport and from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services on Wednesday. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26 at the funeral home with Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Westport Cemetery.
