Arlena Mae Sarver, 83, of St. Paul, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Waldron Health & Rehab.
Born July 24, 1934, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Derph Blades and Dora L. (Russell) Holland.
She married Kenneth Sarver on March 30, 1968, and he preceded her on August 17, 2007.
Survivors include 2 children- Arleta J. Poland (husband Dave) of Fairland, Kevin J. Hoban of San Juan,
Puerto Rico; brother- Robert D. Holland of Venice, Florida; 4 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her spouse, and 1 nephew.
Mrs. Sarver had lived in this area her entire lifetime and was a high school graduate. She was
manager of Brown Bottle Package Liquor in St. Paul for 15 years, retiring in 2016. She attended Star Baptist
Church and was a member of the U.S.O., entertaining troops in Korea, Japan, and Hawaii.
Arlena enjoyed traveling, playing and listening to music, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St.,
St. Paul, with Pastor Tom True officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 4-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul.
