Barbara's Story

Barbara Ann Sterchi, 75 of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Our Hospice Facility in Columbus. Barb was born on August 11, 1942 in Lexington, KY the daughter of Dan and Louise (Payne) Brame. She graduated from Henderson County High School and then went to Murray State University, graduating in 1964 with her Bachelor's Degree in education. On April 4, 1964 she married Fred Sterchi in Madisonville, KY and he survives.
Other survivors include her children - Steve (Beth Ann) Sterchi of Bowling Green, KY, Beth Sterchi of Naples, FL and Sarah (Courtney) Schroeder of Greensburg; her sister Betty Cruse of Georgetown, KY; her brother Daniel Brame of Portland, OR and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Barb worked for a short time as a school teacher and then became a part time substitute teacher for many years. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution Lone Tree Chapter.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 3PM - 7PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, November 21 at 10:30AM at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Richwine officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg United Methodist Church or the Daughters of the American Revolution Lone Tree Chaper.
