Beryl Hindman Boerner, age 99 formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Andrews Health Campus, Batesville, Indiana with a heart too full to hold any more love. Beryl was described by all as warm, loving and caring. She made everyone she met feel special and loved. She was always positive and lived a Christian life to the fullest.
The daughter of Matthew and Bertha (Weyandt) Hindman was born on June 1, 1918 in Windber, Pennsylvania. She married William Henry Boerner 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1989.
The Penn State graduate worked as a Registered Dietitian until she retired at 80, serving in administrative, clinical, teaching and consultant roles. In 1982, she was named Outstanding Dietitian of Nebraska by the Nebraska Dietetic Association. A Scholarship was created in her honor by the National Organization.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane (Eric) Foreman of Aiken, SC, Elizabeth (Dean) Fleenor, of Bluffton, SC and Susan (the late Raymond) Fortman of Greensburg, IN, her son William H. (Ellen) Boerner II of Virginia Beach, VA, five grandchildren including Michael (Brittany Hellmich) Fortman of Zionsville, IN and five great grandchildren, including Logan and Isabel Rae Fortman.
In accordance with her wishes, a memorial service will be held in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Beryl Boerner Memorial Scholarship thru the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation or Eastridge Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, NE.
