Betha Lavonne Wimmer Betha Lavonne Wimmer, 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at OUR Hospice
Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born August 10, 1925 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Walter Oliver Platt and Stella Mae
(Ramer) Platt. She married Joseph Gale Wimmer on December 9, 1945 and he preceded her on
March 6, 1995.

Survivors include 2 sons- David Alan Wimmer (wife Mary) of Brownstown, Thomas Gale Wimmer
(wife Doris) of Westfield, daughter Nancy Jo Wimmer of Shelbyville; sister-in-law Lena Platt of Greensburg;
7 grandchildren- Morgan Nastav, Blair Stevens, Christopher Wimmer, Matthew Wimmer, Michael Wimmer,
Jeffrey Wimmer,Lynn Wimmer; 3 great grandchildren- Olivia, Beau, & Carlin. She was preceded in death
by her parents, spouse, infant sister Lucille Platt, and 2 brothers- Robert & Wilmer Platt.

Mrs. Wimmer was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1943. She
had worked as a dietary assistant at Heritage House Children's Center for 9 years, and as cafeteria manager
at Southwestern High School for 8 years. She was a member of Waldron United Methodist Church, Mystery
Pals Shelby County Extension Club, and Shelby Senior Red Hat Society.

Betha grew up a farm girl who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and being involved in mission work. She loved spending
time with her family and cherished many fond memories of each and every one.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437
Amos Road. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday evening, September 17,2018 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.

Memorial contributions can be made to Waldron United Methodist Church, Salvation Army, or Shelby County
Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
