David Lynn Hadler, 86, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016. He was born May 10, 1930, the son of Harvey C. and Zelma (Kinsey) Hadler.
He graduated from Greensburg High School and was a member of the National Guard. He was a devout Christian and attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Shelbyville.
David worked in the financial industry for 30 years, but it was only after his time at the bank that he discovered his true passion and became a locksmith. For more than 30 years, he served financial institutions and private entities in and around the Greensburg area and many other cities in Southeastern Indiana.
David is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Kathy (Fred) Kurtz, Marnie (Tom) Boyd, Terri (Chris) Hill; sons, Garry Hadler, Steve (Jill) Sheaffer; grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Kurtz, Michael Kurtz, Nick and Scott Hadler, Alaina (Tyler) Kramer, Jayna Sheaffer, Caroline, Caden, Cendall and Caige Sheaffer, Kyle and Eric Boyd; six great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Batchelor of Georgia; brother, Paul Hadler of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant triplet sisters.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul. Dr. Robb Barlow will officiate the service and burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.
