Dorothy B. Gosnell, 97, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2017, at Morristown Manor. She was born in Rush County, Indiana on May 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Lola and Lora Alexander.
She graduated from Milroy High School in 1936.
Dorothy was the widow of Lowell Gosnell. She was a homemaker.
She was the oldest member at Big Flat Rock Christian Church, having been a member since 1934. She was also a 50 year member of the Extension Homemakers Club, Literary Research Club, and Dorcas Circle, a part of Big Flat Rock Christian Church.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. (Phillip) Keppel, of Greenfield; son, Perry D. (Tonya) Gosnell, of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell, on Oct. 2, 2002; daughter, Rita McGee, on Feb. 2, 2004; sisters, Estele Alexander and Marjorie Baringer; and brother, Merle (Jack) Alexander.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to Noon on Friday, May 12 at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy. Funeral services will follow at noon with Rev. Fred Hickman officiating. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
