Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Weber, 89, of Westport, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born September 9, 1928, in Scipio, Mrs. Weber was the daughter of the late Alfred and Virginia Ramey Carnes. She married Roger Weber on August 15, 1948. He survives.
Mrs. Weber was a 1946 graduate of Scipio High School in Scipio and a graduate of Cincinnati Beautician School. She worked as a self-employed beautician for 52 years. Mrs. Weber was a member of the Westport Baptist Church and a Past Matron and 50 plus year member of North Vernon Chapter #183, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling and was one of the first bowlers at Eder's Pro Bowl where she also participated in a league for 50 plus years. She was a member of a card club for 40 plus years and enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino. Mrs. Weber loved being with her friends and family.
Surviving with her husband of 69 years, Roger are sons, Jerry (Ann) Weber of Columbus and Tony (Lisa Smither) Weber of Westport; daughter, Peggy (Tom) Pugh of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; former daughter-in-law, Melissa Weber of Westport; sister, Margie Cathy of North Vernon; grandchildren, Kevin Patton of Georgia, Kristel Bryan of Kansas, Danielle Barrett, Amanda Warford, and McKayla Pugh all of Kentucky, Tori Weber, Luke Weber, Leslie Corbin and Michael Weber all of Indiana and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Letha Waller and Lydia Beasley.
A funeral service for Mrs. Weber will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. David Skaggs officiating. Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted by members of North Vernon Chapter #183, O.E.S. at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Heart Association, American Lung Association and Westport Baptist Church.
