Dwain's Story

Dwain L. Howe, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, at Ashford Place Health Campus. He was born Feb. 7, 1942, in Rush County, son of Oral and Glendola (Buckler) Howe.
Dwain graduated from Waldron High School and the University of C,incinnati where he earned an accounting degree.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Vietnam.
Dwain married Gwen (Taylor) Howe on Jan. 5, 1964, and she preceded him in death on June 17, 2005.
Dwain worked at BCA for 37 years, as well as the Salvation Army. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and the Salvation Army.
He volunteered at the Shelby Senior Center every Wednesday. He was an avid flea-marketer and loved boating. Spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure.
Dwain is survived by his children, Ryan (Stacy) Howe, Martinsville, and Lori (Howe) R. Wilson of Greensburg; grandchildren, Krista R. Sexton, Levi T. Wilson, Saleah T. Howe, Cheyenne A. (Ben) Fox, and Dakota M. Howard
Mr. Howe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Donald Howe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 22 at the funeral Home with Shannon Benner officiating. Burial will follow at Norristown Cemetery in Shelby County.
