Florence Rose Shelp, 87, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born Oct. 7, 1929, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Earl and Esther (Hankins) Bruner.
Florence worked at Minears Clothing Store for several years.
She was married to Henry R. Shelp on Dec. 14, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Evelyn) Shelp, Seymour; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Larry) Abshear, Metamora; sisters, Linda Drew, Mabel Williams, Eloise Remmler; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Garry R. Shelp; brothers, Thomas Bruner, Donald Bruner; and sister, Nancy Martin.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at the funeral home, with Rev. Rob Edwards officiating. Interment will be held in Shelby Cemetery in Rexville, Indiana.
