Harriett Francis Fisher passed away in her home on October 14 in her husband, of 56 years, arms. She was born April 25, 1941 in Elizabeth, West Virginia. She married William Allen Fisher December 29, 1960 at Clarksburg Christian Church. They were blessed with 2 children Cynthia Francis (Harold) Windle and Anthony Allen (Dena) Fisher.
She graduated from Clarksburg High School and Indiana Business College. She was employed at Batesville Casket Company for 15 years. She was a member of the Greensburg First Christian Church and the Red Hatters Society. She was a former member of Business and Professional Women and Woman of the year in 1995, Emmaus, Camera Club, Decatur County 4-H, Decatur County Home Ec. Club, Greensburg after Five Club and Professional Secretaries International. She taught Sunday school and Bible Classes.
She had many new and old hobbies- counted cross stitch, photography, scrapbooking, Longaberger baskets, sewing, quilting, appliquéing, making Christmas gifts, making pillows and writing letters to shut-ins, family, and friends. She was extremely generous with her very many talents. She liked her cats, flowers, and bird watching.
Harriett was preceded in death by daughter Cynthia at age 28, her parents Harry and Naomi Robinson Kirschner and foster brother Carl Jackson. She is survived by loving husband, son Tony (Dena) Fisher, Grandsons Brice and Brandon Windle, Jeremy and Austin Fisher, granddaughters Katie and Becky Fisher, great grandchildren Everly and Maddie Windle and sister Alice Nuhring and sister in law Frances Jackson.
Harriett suffered with MS for 40 years so she had decided to donate her body to the IU medical center for research. There will be a memorial service Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church of Greensburg. Preacher Danny Wolford will be officiating.
