James H. "Jiggs" Favors, 87, of Waldron, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Waldron Health and Rehab Center.
He was born Nov. 10, 1929, to Jesse Favors and Marie (Parker) Favors in St. Paul. He married Katy (Kelley) Favors on Nov. 14, 1948, and she preceded him in death April 10, 2013.
Survivors include five children, Linda (Hal) Pike of Greenwood, Harvey (Sylvia) Favors of St. Paul, Mary Favors of Greensburg, David (Jana) Favors of Shelbyville, and Scott (Margie) Favors of Virginia; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers.
Mr. Favors was a lifetime resident of the area.
He attended St. Paul High School.
Mr. Favors was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a truck driver for several trucking companies for many years until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of United Brethren Chapel Church of St. Paul.
He was also a lifetime member of the Indiana Bass Club.
Jiggs loved the outdoors, tournament bass fishing, training and raising coon dogs, training standard bred horses and in his later years, playing golf.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Adrian Scripture officiating.
Burial will be at Paul Hill Cemetery, St. Paul.
Memorial contributions may be made to United Brethren Chapel Church, in care of the funeral home.
