Joan Georgette Bowen, 95, former Frankfort resident, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. Born Oct. 11, 1921, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of Beryl Hamilton and Grace (Dickerson) Goldsberry.
Joan was a 1939 graduate of Frankfort High School. She was a retired secretary, working for Clinton County Hospital, Community Schools of Frankfort, and First Christian Church. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Frankfort, where she was active in the Esther Circle and former secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and playing the piano. She created wonderful memories with her family and friends.
She married James Robert Bowen at First Christian Church in Frankfort on Nov. 1, 1939, and he preceded her in death Feb. 12, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Larry) Weimer of Greensburg; grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Blankman, Suzanne Weimer and Matt Weimer, all of Greensburg; great-grandsons, Michael and David Blankman, Greensburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Joyce, and brothers, Leon and Tharon Goldsberry.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall will officiate. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
