John R. Pickett, 79, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born March 8, 1937, in Milroy, he was the son of William F. and Mary B. (Artmeier) Pickett.
John worked for the Delta Faucet Co. in the shipping and receiving department for 32 years until his retirement. He served in the Army and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was married to Madeline Jackson on Sept. 25, 1971 and she survives.
He is also survived by his son, Dale Pickett, Greensburg; daughter, Kathy Linville, Greensburg; sister, Rosemary Roberts, Mississippi; grandchildren, Steven and Ashley Linville, Greensburg; step-grandchild, Makayla Lowery, Greensburg; and great-grandchild, Hayden Linville, Greensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Pickett; brother, William A. Pickett; and sister, Loretta C. Moore.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Funeral Services begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, at the funeral home with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery with military graveside honors.
