Juanita O. Thompson, 82, of Greensburg, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. She was born in Columbus on July 31, 1935, the daughter of Virgil Bryan & Irene (Pruett) Richardson. She lived the majority of her life in Decatur County and was a graduate of Hope High School. Juanita had worked at Burney Elementary School; she retired from Decatur County Memorial Hospital after 19 years of service.
She was a member of Burney Methodist Church and the Decatur County Aviation
Association. She enjoyed reading and her cats. She married Wallace S. Thompson
on February 11, 1955 in Hope and he survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Deborah K. Ayres of Greensburg; her son, Paul (Becky) Thompson of Greensburg; and her granddaughters, Shannon Carter, Jamie (Joe) Creamer both of Greensburg and Jessy Eicher of Sunman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carolyn Menefee; brother, A.J. Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 1:00 until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Leak & Pastor Tammy Leak will be officiating with burial to follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
