Larry  Luce


Larry Francis Luce, Sr., 69, of St. Paul, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at Roudebush VA Medical Center. Born December 18, 1948, in Elmira, New York, he was the son of Russell Earl Luce and Thelma J. (Baird) Luce. He married Ruth (Shamblin) Luce on April 16, 2016, and she survives. Other survivors include 3 children- Laurie Cooper (husband Steven) of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Loretta Nugent (husband Richard) of Westport, Larry Luce Jr. (wife Michele) of Concord, North Carolina; 3 stepchildren- Shannon Scott (wife Jill) of Newpoint, Indiana, Samantha Walke (companion Bryan Stegman) of Batesville, James Coble (wife Melanie) of Greensburg; brother David Luce (wife Darlene) of Spartansburg, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 6 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel Luce, and 2 grandchildren Jeffery and Charles Lovingood. Mr. Luce had lived in this area for 15 years, moving from Strawplains, Florida. He was a diesel mechanic his entire working career, and retired from Hertz Equipment in 2002. He graduated from Lansing High School in New York, and was a member of the American Legion of Greensburg, and a lifetime member of (ARBA) American Rabbit Breeders Association. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Larry enjoyed visiting the casino, attending rabbit shows, and he loved classic automobiles. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, with visitation there from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Paul Hill Cemetery with a graveside military service conducted by a local veterans organization. Online condolences may be shared at
