Linda's Story

WEST LAFAYETTE: Linda Rose Schreiber, 73 of West Lafayette, IN died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at her home in West Lafayette, Indiana after a three year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born November 30, 1944 in Greensburg, a daughter of Lavorn VanArsdall and Lura Fleetwood. Her formative years were spent in Greensburg. She graduated Greensburg High School where she was homecoming queen in 1963.
She worked at Minears Department Store and Dr. Childress office before moving to Indianapolis in the early 70's where she made a home and raised a family.
From 2012 to 2018 she served as Secretary/Bookkeeper at Carriage On The Square Smokehouse in downtown Greensburg where her numerous contributions will not be forgotten. The establishment's most popular sauce is named after her.
She enjoyed living for several years at her lake home in Columbia City, Indiana. She also enjoyed traveling and volunteering for several organizations, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved longtime companion, Jason Mosher; two sons, Scott (Cassandra) Murphy, and Hans Schreiber; two grandsons, Garrett and Garner Murphy; three step-granddaughters, Libby, Kalah, Kinzie; a brother, Gery (Marcia) VanArsdall and two sister-in-laws, Nettie VanArsdall and Harlean VanArsdall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Rolland, Chad and Art VanArsdall and sister Faith Fulton.
Per Linda Rose's wishes a private service will be held.
