Lois E. McLaughlin, 91, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born April 2, 1926, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Harley D. and Callie (Hardin) Anderson.
She graduated from Spiceland High School in 1944 and later earned an Associate's degree in Accounting.
She married James R. McLaughlin on February 22, 1946, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2012.
Lois loved golf and played as a member of the Greensburg Country Club for 65 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for their business for years. She later worked as secretary in personnel at Bohn Aluminum and credit manager for Decatur County Co-op for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She also enjoyed working with the Brownie and Cub Scouts for 12 years.
Lois was a woman of great faith and a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, devoted and loyal person.
She is survived by her son, Alan McLaughlin (Cindy) of Greensburg; and daughter, Sally (Tim Frykman) Baker of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Debra (Jeff) Snyder, James A. McLaughlin, Lauren (Chad) Gill, and Lindsey (Danny) McIntosh; three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She is also survived by many great wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was the last of seven children. Those preceding her in death were her brothers, Donald and George Anderson, and sisters, Anabel Riley, Eloise Reece, Doris Liggett and Athleen Cook.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28 at United Methodist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment graveside services will follow at South Park Cemetery. Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
