Marie B. Stier, 99, Greensburg, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Morning Breeze. She was born June 27, 1917, in Millhousen, daughter of Bernard and Josephine (Weisker) Schoettmer.
Marie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Anne's Society, both in Millhousen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family.
She was married to Edward J. Stier on Nov. 23, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1982.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Dorothy) Stier, Napoleon, Marvin (Ann) Stier, Greensburg, Carl (Rosie) Stier, Greensburg, Stephen (Karen) Stier, Batesville; daughters, Eileen (Mike) Vinson, Cincinnati, Ohio, Janet (Zack) Beldsoe, Warsaw, Kentucky, Kathy (Mike) Kohrman, Greensburg; 35 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kenneth Stier; brothers, Herman and Walter Schoettmer; sisters, Rose Menkedick, Loretta Bedel, Gertrude Ruhl, Rita Greiwe.
Family and friends will gather to pray the rosary at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. Visitation will follow until 8 p.m. Funeral mass begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. John Meyer will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
