Martha Sue Artmeier, 69, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Greensburg on April 12, 1947, to John Carroll and Louise (Beggs) Carroll.
She was a graduate of Clarksburg High School. Sue also attended and graduated from Cottey College and Indiana University. She spent over 30 years employed with Indiana University, beginning with the Indiana Memorial Union and ending her tenure at IU as the Assistant Director of the Johnson Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Kelley School of Business.
Sue was a member and an elder of First Presbyterian Church, along with being a member of P.E.O.
Sue greatly enjoyed her traveling over the past few years. A few of her notable highlights were Scotland, Ireland and Hawaii. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor, positive attitude, and the profound love she had for her grandchildren.
Sue leaves behind her daughter, Dea (Joel Schneider) Carroll; son, John Louis Artmeier; and grandchildren, Isabel Grace and Ava Louise Schneider, all of Bloomington. Her siblings Tom (Karen) Carroll of Greensburg, Mary Beth (Ron) Bell of Zionsville and Bob Carroll of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, also survive, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Don E. Artmeier.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37. Funeral services for Sue begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 221 E. 6th St., Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund at First Presbyterian Church or the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, c/o IU Foundation.
