Mary Etta (Penny) Butts, 59, of Evansville, formerly of Osgood, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Parkview Care Center after a difficult battle with cancer. She was born July 7, 1958, in Georgetown, Ohio, daughter of the late Ervin Francis and Florence H. (Beck) Penny.
Mary loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and passing on family recipes to the next generation. She was fond of old-fashioned movies, puzzles, and loved to tell her stories.
A woman of many talents, she worked at too many places to mention, using her widely varied skills to find her place at each.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Domingo) Barrett; sons, George (Amanda) Browning and Lawrence Joseph Browning; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Jenny Kimberly and Alice Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ace Kimberly; and grandchildren, Gabriel Browning, Becky Kimberly, Donnie Kimberly, and Roger Kimberly.
In keeping with her final wishes, there will be no formal funeral ceremony. Friends and family are instead invited to a memorial gathering from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 430 W. Eckert St., Osgood. Mary's ashes will be present and a photo board will be displayed. Anyone wishing to bring a photo to add to the board is welcome to do so. The family invites all who knew Mary to attend the memorial and share their memories of this wonderful woman.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many people.
