Michael Dale Cox, 59, of Hope, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born Aug. 30, 1957, in Greensburg, Mike was the son of Clayton and Freida (Lawson) Cox.
He recently worked at Delta Faucet in Greensburg and spent many years as a farm loan officer. He was a farmer at heart.
Mike was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church. He enjoyed farming, pig showing, NASCAR, and telling stories with his buddies. He was a foodie and enjoyed frying chicken and cooking for everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and their friends. He really enjoyed going on warm vacations with his family.
Mike was a member of Farm House Fraternity Purdue University Bachelors class of 1979.
He married Debra Bense on June 21, 1980, and she survives.
Other survivors include his children, Glendon (Sarah) Cox of Greensburg and Morgan (Ryan Thayer) Cox of Hope; brother, Steve Cox of Columbus; mother-in-law, Janet Bense of Hope; sisters-in-law, Wanda (Steve) Fortner and Brenda (David) Shireman, both of Hartsville; several nieces and nephews, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Beverly Elliott; and father-in-law, Louis Bense.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and one hour prior to funeral service at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the funeral home, with Pastor David Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
