Nita E. Thompson, 84, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Nita was born May 14, 1933, in Decatur County, the daughter of Oscar and Faith (Linkel) Wullenweber.
She was a graduate of Burney High School. She married Willice Thompson on April 17, 1955, and he survives.
Nita worked for more than 30 years as office manager at Shirks Tree City Supply. After retiring, she went to work as a teller at MainSource Bank for a few years.
In addition to her husband, Nita is survived by her sons, Roger (Teresa) Thompson of Greensburg and Daryl Thompson of Indianapolis; sister, Sarah (Larry) Trupp of Bellbrook, Ohio; brother, Glenn (Jean) Wullenweber of Greensburg; granddaughter, Brittany (Kevin) Lane of Noblesville; and her great-grandson, Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Byard; and brothers, Oscar "Sonney" and Roger Wullenweber.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until the start of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
