Robert's Story

Robert "Robby" Duane Miller, age 49, of Hanover, Indiana entered this life on May 5, 1968 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of Howard Duane and Linda Brierly Miller. He resided in Hanover community all of his life and was a 1986 graduate of Southwestern High School. On May 31, 1986 he was united in marriage to Valerie Jane Grigsby at the Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. This happy union of 31 years was blessed with a daughter, Karrie. Robby was the manager of Mike's Service Center in Hanover, Indiana and worked as a roll back truck driver and mechanic. He also had worked for Reliance Electric until it closed. He was a member of the Manville Christian Church where he was baptized in the creek in November of 2011. He enjoyed attending Hanover Baptist Church from time to time as well. Robby enjoyed collecting guns and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid NASCAR and driver Rusty Wallace and the Louisville Cardinals Basketball Fan. Robby died on Monday, December 18, 2017, at 12:34 p.m. at his father's farm in Hanover, Indiana.
Robby will be missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Valerie Jane Grigsby Miller of Hanover, Indiana; his loving daughter, Karrie N. Miller and her companion, Scott Scheuermann of Hanover, Indiana; his loving granddaughter, MaKayla Scheuermann; his loving grandson, Wyatt Scheuermann; his sisters, Cindy Miller Seveir and her companion, Carl Tyree of Hanover, Indiana, Delana Miller Pratt and her husband, Scott of Greensburg, Indiana, Amanda Miller of Mitchell, Indiana; his brothers, Josh Miller of Madison, Indiana, Michael Miller of Corydon, Indiana, Jacob Miller of Batesville, Indiana; his sister in laws, Onita Stephan and her husband, Dan of Cannan, Indiana, Debbie Harting and her husband, Rev. Bob Harting of Clay City, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha Wright Miller Renschler and Elbert C. Renschler; Robert and Sally Brierly, his father in law and mother in law, Herbert and Nettie Jane Myers Grigsby, and his best friend, Mike Hess, died August 7, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor J.D. Traylor and Bro. George Severn at the Hanover Baptist Church, 151 West Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Hanover Cemetery in Hanover, Indiana. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street Hanover, Indiana and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Hanover Baptist Church, 151 West Main Street in Hanover, Indiana.Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Hess Foundation or the Miller Grandchildren's Trust.Cards are available at the funeral home and the church.
