Shirley M. Mozingo, 82 of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her home. Shirley was born on May 16, 1935 in Decatur County, the daughter of James Claude and Cora (Black) Colson. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1954 and married Bud Mozingo on December 11 the same year.
Survivors include three daughters - Vengi (Bill) Holtkamp, Margi (Bill) Graves and Vonda (John) Elsner all of Greensburg; three sisters Betty Ruble, Marcile Churgovich and Joann Buening; two brothers Don and Earl Colson; seven grandchildren Amy (Scott) Henderson, Jared (Michelle) Graves, Anthony (Katie) Holtkamp, Danielle (Jason) Bell, Alicia (Emil) Narwold, Emily (Bartholomew) Smith and Jesse Elsner; and 9 great grandchildren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Michael Mozingo, two sisters Jeanette Levi and Cora Wyrick and four brothers James, Ray, Hershel and Paul Colson.
Shirley was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends. She also loved the outdoors and tending to her flowers as well as the flowers at Harvest Market where she worked for more than 15 years. Her Wednesdays were always spent with her sisters and friends playing Dominos and cards.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10AM until the start of the funeral service at 1PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with George Willette and Scott Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westport Christian Church or the Margaret Mary Hospice.
