Wilbur  Holzback


Wilbur Holzback, 91, a longtime Rush County resident, passed away April 3, 2019 in Greensburg. Wilbur was born September 21, 1927 in Franklin County to the late William & Margie (Jones) Holzback. He was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School. Wilbur married the former Lucille Maple on August 27, 1949 and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2016.
Wilbur farmed in Richland Twp for 40 years, retiring in 1989. After farming, Wilbur went to work for Taff Furniture Store in Rushville for 21 years handeling their delivery & repair.
Wilbur was a US Army veteran. He was a former Deacon & Trustee of Clarksburg Christian Church where he had been a member since 1962.
Wilbur is survived by a son, Michael W. & wife Carol Holzback of Rush County, grandchildren, David (Nicole) Edwards, Angie (Tim) Fagan, Dawn Holzback, Joshua Holzback and Jonathan (Krystal) Holzback, great-grandchildren, Michael & Alex Edwards, Aaron, Luke, Zach & Seth Fagan and Taylor, Tyler, Haylee, Isaiah, Jackson & Liam Holzback. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, Shane Michael Holzback, a brother, William "Billy" Holzback and a sister, Betty Mittendorf.
Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rev. Jerran Jackson presiding. Friends are welcome to visit after 9 AM until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Fisher Cemetery.
Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksburg Christian Church.
