William's Story

William W. "Bill" Spaugh, 76, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Aspen Place Health Campus. He was born in Shelbyville on March 5, 1940, son of E.J. and Alma (Hailway) Spaugh.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce.
He was a retired farmer and along with farming, he had been employed at Cummins, Reliance, Deckard Tool & Die, NTN, as well as several other jobs.
Bill was a member of the Hope American Legion, Greensburg Eagles, and was a member of the Flat Rock Hawcreek School Board from 1982 to 1986.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and going on houseboat trips with friends.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Cory) Reeves of Hope; son, Brian Spaugh of Washington State; grandsons, Dylan Anthony and Dakota Bush of Hope and Ethan Henthorne of Taylorsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim and Richard Spaugh.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope, and one hour prior to services. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hope American Legion through the funeral home.
