William E. "Bill" Yorn, Sr., 66, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at home with his family by his side. Bill was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Rushville, to Louis F. Yorn, Sr. and Helen R. (Priddy) Spears.
He was married to Mabel "Kay" Powers on June 3, 1971, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1998.
Bill was an avid guitar player and most of his time was spent playing guitar in a band or solo for his family and friends. He also watched Gunsmoke and Bonanza almost every day. He was an all-around great guy who loved spending time with his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his son, William E. "Bill" Yorn, Jr., of Greensburg; daughter, Laura Kay Yorn, of Greensburg; brothers, Jimmy Yorn and Kelly Spears, both of Greensburg, and Steve and Robert Taylor, both of Texas; sister, Shirley Yorn, of Greensburg; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, Nick and Tom Yorn; and brothers, Butch and Johnny Yorn.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home. Pastor Barry Morton will officiate and burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
