Rushville, IN. - Bertha (Ash) Poe, 99, a longtime Rushville resident, passed away November 12, 2025. She was born October 15, 1926 in Greenup County, KY to Mann & Maudie (Lykins) Ash. Bertha attended Columbia and Hagerstown Schools. She married Charles Poe on May 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1994.

Bertha worked as a trimmer for International Furniture in Rushville for 35 years. She also enjoyed working as a sorter for Pioneer Hi-Bred many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rushville.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting and word search puzzles. She loved going on trips with family and friends to Curtis, Michigan and had spent many winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Charles Michael Poe, Janet Mosley and Cheryl Eck, granddaughter, Catherine Custer, sisters, Mary Kirk & Hazel DeMoss and brothers, Ray, Gene, Paul, Bob, Charles, Carl, Elwood and Donald Ash and daughter-in-law, Janet Poe, special niece, Betty Grimes and special nephew, William "Billy" DeMoss.

She is survived by grandchildren, Vance (Donna) Mosley, Mike (Christy) Poe and Amanda Poe, grandson-in-law, Craig Custer, great grandchildren, Zach (Haley) Mosley, Olivia Mosley, Koedie Poe, Mallory Hammond, Cora Custer, Chase Custer and David (Jaleigh) Oakley, several great-great grandchildren, son-in-law, Boyd Mosley and dear friend, Velma Ash.

Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until service time on Saturday. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
