Jacob Donald Pitcher, 18
Jacob Donald Pitcher, 18, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and friends, while a patient at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis due to injuries sustained from an accidental fall. He was born Feb. 17, 1998, in Oxford, Ohio to Forrest and Melinda Pitcher of Greensburg. He was a senior at Greensburg High School, where he was known by all to be a kind, respectful, polite and very well-mannered young man. He was set to return to the football field this year, where he played as a reserve lineman on offense and defense for the Greensburg High School. He also blocked and tackled on special teams plays. No matter what position he was in on a given play, he gave it his all. He was one of the hardest working players on the team. He loved playing football, and had played football since seventh grade. He was also on the Greensburg High School swim team for one year. He was very musically talented and played the guitar and wrote and sang songs. He loved to skateboard and play video games. He was an extremely hard worker and had been employed at Buffalo Wings and Rings in Greensburg for four years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Maddie Pitcher, of Greensburg; brothers, Jay Gilliland of Greensburg, Nicholas Mealey of Independence, Missouri, Joshua and Misty Pitcher of Oakland, California, and Dane Cruise of Connersville, Indiana; grandparents, Darrell and Ann Proffitt of Connersville, Indiana; aunts and uncles, Kevin and Kathy Crawford of Connersville, Indiana and Matt and Megan Proffitt of Liberty, Indiana, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather whom he was named after, Donald Pitcher; grandparents, Omar and Della Sidell; and an aunt and uncle, Samuel and Pamela Rader. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Community Church of Greensburg, 1427 W. Vandalia Road. Funeral services begin at 7 p.m. with Rev.
