Janet L. Huber Obituary

Saint Paul, IN - Janet L. (Hatton) Huber, 89, of St. Paul, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by family, hymns, prayers and love.

Born March 3, 1936 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Alvester and Dora (Bailey) Hatton. She married Keith Huber on November 21, 1959. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

Mrs. Huber was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Waldron High School in 1954. She attended Marion College (IWU) for 1 year. Mrs.

Huber worked at J.G. Deprez in Shelbyville for 1 year before becoming a secretary at Cummins. She worked there for 5 years before leaving to be a stay-at-home

mother and housewife.

Mrs. Huber was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, where she played the organ for 60+ years and taught Sunday School. In later years she attended the

Community Church of Greensburg. She loved God fiercely, and her family unconditionally. Her love radiated through her abundant service to her church, her family, and her Lord Jesus.

Mrs. Huber's relationship with God was at the core of her life, and she exemplified how to be a Godly woman. She spent hours in prayer for her family. The love she shared with her late

husband Keith, was an honor to witness. Stories say she cried after agreeing to their first date, but the tears didn't last long. It's impossible to describe the love when she called him

"Tweet" and he looked at her with adoration. She was a wonderful musician, and she instilled that love into her children and grandchildren, whose performances during family

gatherings brought her much joy. Her hospitality expertise was beyond comparison. Hot, delicious, homemade food was always ready when you walked through the door, no matter how late farm chores went. She loved hummingbirds, Hallmark movies, late nights, and sweet treats.

Survivors include 5 children: Brian (Shirley) Huber of St. Paul, IN; Shanda (John) Croft of New Palestine, IN; Tamarah (David) Crosley of Salem, OH; Kent (Jillene) Huber of St. Paul, IN; and

Lucinda (Stephen) Caniff of Salem, IN; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Huber; her parents Alvester and Dora Hatton; sisters: Rosella Golding and Patricia Brown; brother Walter Hatton, grandson

Aaron Huber; great grandson Henry Olson, several cousins and nephews.
