Marilyn S. Chambers, 79, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Ashford Place Health Care. She was born in Boggstown on May 9, 1937, the daughter of Virgil and Lona (Conway) Perry.
She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1955. She married Franklin L. Chambers Nov. 27, 1954, and he survived.
Marilyn was a homemaker and had lived in Geneva since 1987.
She loved to cook, often preparing enough food for an army. The "special requests" from her family and extended family included her homemade yeast rolls, banana pudding, cheesecake, homemade ham salad and her no-bake cookies.
In addition to her husband, Frank Chambers, Marilyn is survived by her children, Debra (Steven) Mathies of Shelbyville, Linda (Steve Garrett) Wagner of Greensburg, Darlene Clarke of St. Paul, and Larry (Lori Risley) Chambers of Greenwood; sister, Joan Owens of St. Paul; sisters-in-law, Billie Leffler and Linda Nicholson; grandchildren, Jamin (Kristy) Clark, Amy (Brian) Erwin, Nikki Adams, Chanda (Dana) Dick, Nathan (Erica) Adams, Tate (Meagan) Linville, Natasha Wagner, Myka Chambers, Samantha Chambers, Grace Risley and Nathan Risley; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Emily, Sara, McKenna, Ian, Abigail, Clare, Kody, Eryn, and Emmaline; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters; brothers, Robert Perry, Larry Perry, and Gary Perry; nephew, Michael Perry; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Perry.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 at Glen E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Pastor Bill Horner will officiate.
