St. Paul, IN - Marlena A. Bowen, 77, of St. Paul, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at her residence.

She was born July 6, 1948, in Shelbyville, IN to Martin Beyer and Margaret (Weaver) Beyer.

Marlena attended St. Joseph Catholic School for elementary and then attended Waldron for her high school education. She was employed at BCA in Greensburg for over 20 years before retiring from there in quality control. In her younger years, Marlena enjoyed her frequent trips to Brown County for horseback riding and camping. She always had a love for the outdoors. As the years went by, she grew her love for gardening and tending to her flowers.

She married Richard Bowen on May 19, 1997, and he survives.

She is also survived by her daughter, Tina Fletcher; her great-great grandson, Julian Gray; her step-daughter, Michelle (husband, Rotany) Moraleja; her step-son, Perry Bowen; her step-daughter, Paula (husband, Pedro) Rangel; 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Martin Ray George.

Visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2025, from Noon to 2 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Ashok Valabazzi officiating.

Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery at a later date.
