Events

William E. Green, 62, of Burney, passed away peacefully at home July 13, on his older son Sam's fifth birthday in heaven, surrounded by family after a bravely-fought four-and-a-half year battle with cancer.
A farmer, an artist, a licensed cosmetologist, Bill was a renaissance man who approached his avocations as well as his life with passion and creativity.
He was a graduate of North Decatur High School and attended Ball State University.
An avid collector of Geo Trackers, he owned several other classic cars.
Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kim Moyer Green; daughter-in-law Mandy Ketchum Green and granddaughter Annie Green; and younger son Jake Green and grandchildren Caraline, Kathryn, and Elias Green.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Louis and Patricia Green and older son Sam.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:30 p.m. with a celebration of Bill's life beginning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus.
Online condolences and special memories may be shared with the Green family and a video tribute may be viewed at barkesweaverglick.com.

I remember Bill vividly coming to the church , Tri County Temple, in St Paul, In for Christmas Eve Midnight Communion Service. I also remember he and I having a sideburn pulling contest on the bus when I drove the North Decatur Football Team to IU for a football game there. He was a great guy and fun to know. My prayers are with his family but also have great sorrow for his family for all he and they endured. God's Peace and Comfort to them all.
